PANTO PROJECT 2022 UPDATE!
We are currently booking local charities for the Christmas shows of 2022/23. Please follow our social media pages for up to date information. Here's some feed back from last year.
Forest Bridge School - Term 3
Wednesday 12th June we started our new workshop and this term it's...PUPPETRY! A whole new class will learn this wonderful art form. Children will learn to co-operate when working in small groups and to produce their own puppet play including jokes, song, acting and dialogue. This is a great way to introduce performing arts and gaining self-confidence to the children. We will be introducing finger, hand & string puppets with the children making their own sock puppets for a final performance in a few weeks.
Forest Bridge School - Term 2In May we continued our work at Forest Bridge School, Maidenhead. This was our second term of workshops and we taught the Maple class magic tricks over a four week period. In the last week they performed the tricks they had learnt and the whole school was treated to a show by local magician, Magic Mark. We gifted the school the magic tricks for future use.
Congratulations to everyone involved. |
Forest Bridge School - Term 1In February we started our Young People's project at Forest Bridge School, Maidenhead.
We have supplied & funded a teacher for a six week workshop to teach elements of performing arts, once a week with children that have special educational needs. The children also learnt to play musical instruments which we gifted to the school at the end of the six weeks. Here's a few pictures of the children (parents permission obtained) with their before and after t-shirts of many colours. In their final performance they will sing songs from the musical, Joseph. |
CHRISTMAS SHOWS
We booked over 380 tickets for pantomime’s in the local borough of Windsor & Maidenhead last Christmas. These tickets were funded by the Kevin Cruise Foundation and distributed to over 15 Hospices, Charities, Foundations & Schools across three venues, Dick Whittington at Theatre Royal Windsor, Cinderella at Magnet Leisure Centre and Sleeping Beauty at Desborough Theatre, Maidenhead. We had some lovely photos and messages which we are in the process of uploading to the site .
"Everyone deserves the chance to experience the magic of theatre.”
- Martin Cabble-Reid
The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead is rich in culture and heritage and well served by multiple venues across the borough, such as Theatre Royal Windsor, Windsor Fire Station, The Desborough Theatre, Norden Farm Centre for the Arts and The Magnet Leisure Centre, as well as dozens of smaller venues across the borough, such as village and school halls.
However, it is also a borough of great diversity and, despite remarkable projects and efforts from our local arts centres, we have identified a need for further exposure to the performing arts, particularly for children and from disadvantaged backgrounds.
The Kevin Cruise Foundation is a response to this need. Offering complimentary theatre tickets to children, families, carers, schools and charity volunteers.
The wonderful Tara Deane, a local musician, has written and recorded this fantastic track for the Kevin Cruise Foundation. You can listen to it here-
"Giving is not just about making a donation. It is about making a difference.”
